Meet Kate

Kate is a studio potter and middle school ceramics teacher based on the western shore of Connecticut. She is thrilled to have a hand in leading the CT Clay Guild, a community network for professional potters.

Kate makes functional wares that nestle into your everyday life. She explores shadow and negative space to create the illusion of movement and invite interaction.

Most recent works have been wood or gas fired to cone 10.

a recent favorite from @ctclayguild’s first group firing, hosted by @cantonclayworks! thank you to all who made it such a great experience💕 wanna play? this one sat right in front of the firebox and got hit so hard that the neck warped a bit. i love how the dips of flashing slip create distinct sections with drastically varied textures across the form! haven’t posted one in a while but i’m still obsessed with jars! sometimes the ash hits just right💘 a funky lil chip n dip 🌺 handful of recent mugs☕️ really excited about this series of bowls i’ve been working on🌺 more to come! #mugshotmonday featuring my daily coffee cup🫶🏼
